Zaavan
     A child of Ezer. (36:27)

Zaphnath-Paaneah
     The name given to Joseph by the pharaoh of Egypt when Joseph was made a viceroy. (41:45)

Zarah
     An alternative name for Zerah, one of the twin sons of Judah by his ex-daughter-in-law Tamar. (38:29-30) He was one of Jacob's family that moved to Egypt. (46:5-8,12)

Zeboiim (also called Zeboim)
     A city in the land of Canaan. (10:19) It was one of the five cities that banded together and rebelled against Chedolaomer in the battle in the valley of Siddim. Zeboiim was on the losing side. (chapter 14)

Zebulun
     The sixth son of Jacob by his wife Leah. (30:19-20) He had three sons: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel. (46:14)

Zemarites
     A subdivision of the Canaanites. (10:18)

Zepho
     A son of Eliphaz. (36:11) He was a chief in Edom. (36:15)

Zerah - There are three:
     1. A son of Reuel. (36:13) He was a chief in Edom. (36:17)
     2. A man from the city of Bozrah. His son Johab was a king of Edom. (36:33)
     3. Also called Zarah, he is one of the twin sons of Judah by his ex-daughter-in-law Tamar. (38:29-30) He was one of Jacob's family that moved to Egypt. (46:5-8,12)

Zibeon - There are two:
     1. A Hivite. The parent of a daughter named Anah. (36:2,14)
     2. A son of Seir. This Zibeon had a brother named Anah. (36:20) Zibeon was a Horite chief. (36:29)

Zillah
     One of the wives of Lamech. (4:19) She bore him two children: a son named Tubal-cain, and a daughter named Naamah. (4:22)

Zilpah
     A slave girl to Laban, and later to his daughter Leah. Laban gave her to Leah when Leah married Jacob. (29:24) When Leah stopped bearing children, she gave Zilpah to Jacob so that she could have more children through her slave. (30:9) Zilpah bore Jacob two sons: Gad and Asher. (30:10-13) Later, Leah started bearing children again.

Zimran
     A child of Abraham by his second wife, Keturah. (25:2)

Ziphion
     A son of Gad. He was one of Jacob's family that moved to Egypt. (46:5-8,16)

Zoar
     The new name for the city of Bela. It was renamed when Lot fled to the city after Sodom was destroyed. (10:18-23)

Zohar (The name comes from the Hebrew word "zohar", which means "glow" in English.) - There are two:
     1. A Hittite. He was the father of Ephron, who owned the field of Machpelah and sold it to Abraham. (23:8; 25:9)
     2. A son of Simeon. He was one of Jacob's family that moved to Egypt. (46:5-8,10)

Zuzims
     A tribe who lived in the land of Canaan. They lived in the city of Ham, until the city was conquered by Chedorlaomer in the war in Canaan. (14:5)
